Things Going on in London 2004

THINGS GOING ON IN LONDON 2004

“Burst him” calls the Megaman
before the shot rings out “Not so solid a balloon now!”
It is all over in how many loaded 21 seconds?
Off to the Old Bailey with you.
Scooter lives in the real world
You’d better believe it
She’s chasing the yellow-cake all the way
back to the top of the pile.

And what of Sticky Fingers?
Will Astro congo some apt song?
Or the hold up with the pricing gun and
the robber who cried all the way to the station to dob himself in

The last of the red deckers
a sad day for London town
I ask you why why why
if it’s broken fix it, if it’s not...

And what of the Bishop Don
who sees the undoing of the little boys innocent
as moral waywardness and believe god forgives them
till there is no crime, is it enough then to forgive oneself?

And mad boy Adair knows how to handle a girl
allege this allege that.
Flying car Harry and Russy blue cry
“What is the world coming to?”

When the jukebox, the sport screen, the flashing handled coin-machines
throw the strumming soulster out on the street
we protect the bishop and throw the singer into the pit
with the tigers.

Getting more
and more
civilized
everyday

High Black Boots

take off your slippers
paint your toes
curl your hair behind your ear
put on your high black boots
and walk like this
walk over there

take off your black mini and your peasant top
put your high black boots
back on
take off your red mini and that green vest
you’re backstage now

chorus
so let me in
and let me do
just what i will
take off your mini dress
it is too grey
your under-dress goes too

take off your (day) shoes,
you flimsy shirt you!
put your high black boots
back on
the singlet and the track suit
will not do at all

take off your little fur
beware what pots of paint can do
look out for tossers
though i’m not one of those
take off your lace but leave on your hose

chorus
now let me in
and let me do
just what i will
take off your mini dress
it is too grey
your under-dress goes too
